Conditions of entry;

  1. The Close House International Series England Qualifier is open to all male amateur and professional golfers of any nationality.
  2. Competitors holding both an England Golf and an overseas authority handicap must enter the qualifier using their England Golf handicap. Failing to enter in compliance with the is condition will result in entry being denied.
  3. The exact handicap index certified at the date of entry will be used for all entry purpose.
  4. 144 places will be available in the event. Allocated on a first come first serve basis for all professional golfers. Included in the 144 places are a minimum of 20 amateur places, these places will be allocated in a handicap ballot.
  5. Deadline for entries. Entries must be made via the entry form on the Close House website. www.closehouse.com All online entries must be received by 9.00am on Tuesday 13th June 2023.
  6. All entries shall be subject to the approval of the tournament committee which reserves the right to accept or refuse any entry without giving reasons for its decision, which shall be final. The tournament committee reserves the right to disqualify any competitor making a false or incorrect statement on their entry form.
  7. The entry fee of £125 sterling should accompany all online entries. All entries without payment will be revoked. This is the responsibility of the entrant and will lead to their exclusion from the tournament.
  8. A draw will be made by Tuesday 20th June 2023 to select entrants to compete in the tournament and to select a list of reserves. Following the draw all applicants will be notified via email of whether or not they have been successful in the draw, and if unsuccessful if they have been selected for the list of reserves.
  9. No entry fees will be refunded unless the request to withdraw from the event is received prior to the deadline for entries.

General conditions

  1. The tournament shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by R&A Rules limited, and with Local Rules as approved by the Tournament Committee.
  2. A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions which might affect his play (eg; gradient, windspeed, temperature etc..) the player is in breach of the Rule 4.3. PENALTY for breach of rule 4.3 – PENALTY for first breach from single act or related acts; General penalty. PENALTY for second breach unrelated to first breach – Disqualification.
  3. The ball the players plays must be names on the current list of “The conforming golf balls” issued periodically by the R&A. A list of all conforming golf balls is available on the R&A website – www.randa.org PENALTY for breach of condition – Disqualification.
  4. Driving clubs must not have a characteristic time great than 257 microseconds when measured the pendulum testing apparatus approved by R&A rules limited. A list of all conforming driver heads is available on the R&A website – www.randa.org PENALTY for breach of condition – Disqualification
  5. Players must not ride on any form of transportation during a stipulated round unless authorised by the committee. PENALTY for breach of condition – Disqualification
  6. A competitor not knowingly make use of drugs to enhance performance. Any competitors infringing this condition shall be disqualified.
  7. The tournament committee reserves the right to fix and/or alter the tournament conditions and/or starting times at any time.
  8. Any competitors who during the course of the event, misbehaves by, for example, swearing, throwing clubs, or vandalising the golf course or clubhouse, fails to comply with the regulation for the practice range or acts in any manner which might bring the game into disrepute may be barred from continuing in this event.
  9. Caddies are permitted during the event.
  10. There will be no on course rules officials if a player is unsure of any ruling whilst playing the course, please play a second ball alongside the first ball and complete the hole with both balls. Upon completion of your round please bring this matter to the attention of the tournament committee so a score for the hole can be determined.
  11. The tournament committee, whose decision is final, shall settle all disputes. The tournament committee
    also has the right to revoke or change any rules at any time for this event.

Conditions of play

  1. The qualification tournament shall be played by stroke play over 18 holes of the Lee Westwood Colt Course and played from the Championship tee markers set out on the Course. Please be aware the that the tee markers on holes 8, 9 & 16 will not be situated on the championship tee boxes they will be in a forward position.
  2. The competitors will complete 18 holes on Tuesday 27th June 2023.
  3. It is expected that play will be completed by 8.00pm. The 6 players with the least number of strokes will be the winners of the 6 places in the International Series England 2023. In the event of a tie and where possible a sudden death playoff will be used to determine the winner, the holes used for this play off will be the 1st & 18th holes on the Lee Westwood Colt course. Should daylight become an issue (in the opinion of the tournament committee) a nearest the pin shoot out will take place. The shoot out will take place on the 14th hole of the Lee Westwood Colt Course. The shootout will be in the format of a nearest the pin challenge. All players will play 1 shot from the designated teeing ground, the players ball that finishes nearest to the hole after 1 stroke will be declared the winner.
  4. If it becomes impossible to complete the tournament in accordance with the above conditions, because of adverse weather conditions or other circumstances the tournament committee shall be empowered to vary such conditions to the extent necessary to achieve a result in the time available.

Prizes

  1. The top 6 placed players will be awarded an invited place into the International Series England 2023 tournament. (If there is a tie please refer for point 3).

General information

  1. Practice – Courtesy practice rounds for competitors. Tee times can be booked through the golf shop and will be charged at the members guest green fee rates. 01661 852255.
  2. There is a practice range, chipping/bunker green at Close House where competitors may use the golf balls provided and collected by the club once applicable charges have been paid by the competitor. For safety reasons balls must only be struck from the designated areas and competitors must not use their own balls or collect balls that have been struck. All practice up the driving range must be played from the artificial surfaces provided and not the grass areas. This practice range is available for practice from 7am on Tuesday 27th June and will close at 7.30pm.
  3. Registration – Competitors are requested to register immediately on arrival. The registration desk is situated in the British Masters Suite on the ground floor of the No19 Clubhouse at Close House Golf Club and will be open from 7am on Tuesday 27th June. All competitors must register before play and if unable to do so please inform the club as soon as possible by telephoning 01661 852255.
  4. Dress in the clubhouse is smart casual, no golf shoes to be worn. Hot food and snacks will be available from 7.30am until 7.30pm on the day of the tournament
